Through the looking glass.

I saw a picture of myself only eighteen young
Tried to imagine me as older as the chorus sung
I laid it down and left the thought walking down the hall
Only to find an old woman there hanging on the wall
Her eyes were hazel just like mine, hair was white as snow
Same old smile I've seen before and one I've come to know
Cheeks were full and plump with joy, rosier than I've seen
She had character of something I've only known to be a queen
We sat and talked for what seemed hours as I made a pot of tea
She told me sweetly that I'd one day learn that she was me
I laughed and told her she was silly, but secretly I shivered
I knew this was no coincidence, and knew I'd be delivered
She blinked those lashes down on me and things became clearer
All along I was seeing the future in my hallway mirror
